Can investment clubs buy Premium Bonds?

Simon Moon from This is Money replies: We contacted National Savings and Investments who issue Premium Bonds on behalf of the Treasury. A spokeswoman told us:

‘I am afraid that Premium Bonds cannot be bought by a club. A Bond may not be purchased or held by more than one person or by a body of persons, whether corporate or un-corporate. This regulation is covered in section 17 of the Premium Bonds terms and conditions which states that “Bonds may only be held in the name of one individual person”.’

Every month, This is Money publishes a full list of all the major prizewinners from £1m to £5,000. Find out more by visiting our special Premium Bonds section where you’ll also find our round-up, 50 years of Premium Bonds, plus videos of Ernie picking the winning numbers.
