The latest figures from Land Registry showed house prices falling at the rate of 8% per year, in September, with the average home worth £168,814.
The biggest monthly fall was seen in Wales, where house prices tumbled by 5.5% in September, as annual falls hit 10.7% and the average home declined in value to £126,530.
